Toyota has unveiled a completely redesigned version of its stalwart model, now named the Corolla Axio.The new Axio, as the 10th generation Corolla sedan found Toyota focusing on enhancing basic performance and deepening the sense of quality.

These include improved driving-support functions such as the rearview monitor that is standard on all Corolla Axio models, and the one-touch double-folding rear seats that are standard.There's a newly developed 1.5-litre engine Super CVT-i (Super Continuously Variable Transmission-intelligent) transmission, and an all-new safety setup that includes the radar-based "pre-crash" system. The Japanese also get an Intelligent Parking Assist system.

In the looks department, the new Corolla's are based on Toyota's "Vibrant Clarity" design philosophy, intended to create a "sense of relaxation and vitality".So the Axio gets a front end with a design that unifies the bonnet with the bumper between the fenders; a door line flowing toward the rear and the rear pillars; combination taillights with a distinctive design; and rear pillars that sweep downward to create an arcing character line.

The HDD (hard disc drive) navigation system features a 6.5-inch wide display screen and a 30GB high-capacity HDD, as well as a variety of multimedia functions and advanced navigation functions.

Entry is by the "Smart Entry & Start System", which employs a Smart Key to lock and unlock the doors and a button to start the engine?
All that's needed is to have the vehicle key on one's person or nearby.
